The Wave Chargers have played at Sunburn Surf Fest 2023.

These four rock n’ rollers have been involved in the Parisian underground scene since 2015, giving a fashionable spin to authentic surf music. The dexterity of their guitar-playing and their wild live shows, often including a skilled go-go dancer, have brought them to notorious stages, opening for artists including The Flamin’ Groovies, The 5.6.7.8’s or King Khan & the Shrines.

The Wave Chargers have also showcased their powerful and sexy surf music throughout Europe, at festivals such as Hipsville (UK), Surf‑O‑Rama (Spain), or Surfer Joe Summer Festival (Italy).

After two Eps and one LP (“The Wave Chargers”, 2019) received attention from the French media, (Rock & Folk, Rolling Stone Magazine, FIP, France 24), the band now returns with what they do best: instrumental music, mainly surf, but now widening their musical horizons.

The band has in fact been composing for various movies and TV shows: “L’Evènement” Gold Lion – Venice 2021; various Netflix productions including “Emily In Paris” & “Madame Claude”; France Television and the Discovery Channel.

As they were writing and recording this new album, these experiences inspired the band to embark on a new musical trip, packing their foot stomping surf themes and nods to Beach Party movies, taking off to Hawaiian atmospheres and landing in 1960s Japan, with a quick layover on the West and North African coasts.
