Lineup

  1. Mark Malibu and Starlotte Satine on stage, with the Wasagas in the back

Considered a touchstone of the Toronto Surf Scene, the Wasagas mix their ’60s influences with an ’80s attitude and a modern approach. Often accompanied by go-go dancer Starlotte Satine they put the WOW back into the show, making friends where ever they go!

Canada’s original Surf Punk Instrumentalists caught the second wave of surf music between ’79 and ’82. Groovy teenagers who played with many punk and new wave bands, confusing audiences everywhere.

Reuniting in 2014, the retro-fitted Wasagas have released four full length LPs, all reaching #1 in the international surf music charts. Based in Toronto, they‘re a staple on the Canadian Rockabilly/Garage/Surf scene. They have toured steadily in Canada and the US with some limited shows in Europe, including the Surfer Joe Summer Festival in Livorno, Italy.

Mark Malibu and the Wasagas are officially endorsed by Hallmark Guitars and play matching gold sparkle Swept Wings. Their music has appeared in the “Hudson and Rex” and “Good Witch” TV series, as well as in the horror films “Beyond the Chamber of Terror” and “Frat Fright”. They‘ve also created a jingle for Harmon‘s Non-Alcoholic Craft Beer. And with four “Surfin’ Kitty X-mas” records, that they’ve produced, they have raised thousands of dollars for a cat sanctuary in Grand Bahamas.

  2. The Malbehavers rocking on the Little Devil stage

With roots in The Mono‑Tones, The Surf‑O‑Maniacs and The Ribble Chips and a record collection full of Dick Dale, Astronauts and Surfaris, Tilburg locals The Malbehavers blast their songs, full of wild surf guitars, across the dance floor.

    Sonic beach party.

The wild surf guitars of Tilburg locals The Malbehavers, for a sonic beach party! Instrumental surf music from the days when ponytails were still worn high on the head, swimming trunks were still fitting tight around the scrotum, and when you could still shamelessly shake your hips on the dance floor.
